Washing instructions – Duvet & Pillow

If both the duvet and pillow are 100% synthetic, they’re straightforward to wash.

Step 1, check if the item has a washing label, and follow the instructions.

No label? No worry, follow the instructions below.

Washing

• • Temperature:
    

     

    • • 40°C for a normal maintenance wash during the stay
    • • 60°C for a more hygienic wash, and definitely at the end of the stay

• • Cycle: Gentle or bedding cycle.

• • Detergent: A small amount of liquid detergent.

• • Fabric softener: just a small amount, as too much can reduce the fluffiness of the filling.

• • Spin speed: 800–1,000 rpm.

Drying

• • Tumble dry on low heat if the label permits.

• • Add 2–3 dryer balls or clean tennis balls to help restore the loft if you have this.

• • Dry until completely dry, even if it takes several cycles. Any remaining moisture can cause odours or mildew, and result in supplementary laundry ccost afetr all.

• • If you don’t have a tumble dryer, air dry flat or over a clothes airer, turning and fluffing it every few hours.

Leaving it in the room

• • Fold neatly, like you received it upon arrival and so it will be clean, neat and ready to use buy teh next tenant

Tips

• • Wash one duvet at a time so it has enough room to move freely.

• • Stains on duvet or pillow? Use a stainremover first to wash it manually or spry it on the item to work during the machine laundry

• • Pillows can usually be washed two at a time to keep the washing machine balanced.

• • Make sure your washing machine has sufficient capacity:
    

     

    • • 8 kg machine: 1 single duvet + up to 2 pillows.
    • • 10 kg or larger: Can usually handle a double duvet.

Once dry, give both the duvet and pillows a good shake to restore their shape and loft before putting them back into clean covers.
