Water is expensive, the average rate per m3 last year was 9.87€. Below some tips to help you create awareness and save on water.

Keep the tap closed as much as possible

Do not let the tap run while brushing your teeth, washing yourself, or doing the dishes. A standard tap uses 10 to 12 litres of water per minute. Wash fruit and veggies in a pot instead of using running water. You might even reuse this water to do some floor cleaning. use lesskitchen utensils to save on cost for dishes, shorten the duration of your showers, …

How to attentfully shower

  • A standard showerhead uses on average 10 to 18 litres per minute.
  • A water-saving showerhead uses 5 to 9 litres per minute.
  • Use a shower timer.

Do your laundry efficiently

Collect your laundry and prefer one full load in the washing machine rather than several small loads.

Make your installation more water-efficient

  • Perform a leak test and take the necessary measures. Repair dripping taps and leaking toilet cisterns as soon as possible.
  • Install aerators on taps, such as those on the kitchen sink and washbasin. An aerator reduces the water flow by about half, to approximately 5–6 litres per minute.
  • Install a dual-flush toilet with two buttons: one for a smaller flush and one for a larger flush.
  • When purchasing a new washing machine or dishwasher, choose a water-efficient appliance:
    • A new dishwasher uses between 9 and 17 litres per cycle.
    • A new washing machine uses on average about 50 litres of water per cycle.
