✅ Your Move-Out Checklist

Getting ready to leave your studio? Use this checklist to make sure everything’s in order for the final inspection — and avoid unexpected fees.

Let’s make your checkout smooth, clear, and stress-free!

🛏️ Furniture & Equipment

• All original furniture is present and in good condition
• No stains or damage on mattress, desk, chair, shelves, wardrobe, curtains
• Fridge and microwave are empty, clean, and functional
• Cooking plate and sink are clean, no burnt spots or grease, no clogs

🚿 Bathroom

• Shower, sink and toilet are fully cleaned, lime free
• No limescale on tiles, fixtures or glass
• Mirror and shelves wiped down
• No mold or moisture issues

🧹 General Cleaning

• Floor is vacuumed and mopped
• Windows are cleaned inside
• Walls are free of stains, nails, stickers, blu-tack etc.
• All personal items removed
• No trash left behind
• Lights working, no missing bulbs
• All surfaces wiped down (table, desk, shelves, kitchen top etc.)

📦 Extra Points

• Nothing is left in drawers, cabinets or under the bed
• Fridge and freezer defrosted (at least 24h before move-out!)
• Keys ready to hand over
• Meter readings will be done together
• Final check & handover appointment scheduled

♻️ Waste & Leftover Items

• All garbage must be removed from the studio — don’t forget bins, drawers, fridge, and under the bed
• Waste must be sorted correctly according to Leuven’s sorting rules (PMD, paper/cardboard, residual waste, glass, etc.) — even for the final bags!
• No trash or personal belongings may be left behind unless explicitly agreed upon
• Have clean, usable items you don’t need anymore? (e.g. kitchen gear, lamps, drying rack) Ask us — we may be able to pass them on to a future tenant.
• Bulky waste (broken furniture, mattresses, electronics…) must be brought to a container park or disposed of via city collection — no exceptions
• Nothing may be left in hallways, common areas, or outside the building
• If you’re leaving on a day other than trash collection day, ask a fellow tenant or let us know so we can help you get it outside.
