Guest Policy
Dear tenants
We hope you like your stay here at Sint-Jacobsplein.
Some people are asking about having over a bunch of friends. We are well aware that you are all away from frineds, family, lovebirds, … so we totally understand that international tenants sometimes have a friend or girl/boyfriend coming over,… For that we can place 1 extra bed for 1 person a few days accordingly our guest policy, https://for-rent-leuven.com/second-bed-request/
However this should be the exception. We have 24 tenants in the building who are here for study/PHD/internship purposes and who should not be disturbed in any way by guests or people who have no rental contract.
The building is not a hostel nor a hotel, and having over ‘a couple of friends’ should also be fun, so will definitely bring noise and disturbing in the building.
As everybody contributes for the use of the shared kitchen and facilities, it’s not ok if people who do not live in the building also occupy these facilities. The more, who will take personal responsibility if something happens? As all tenants are held accountable for the shared facilities, we do not want any of that kind of discussions or complaints.
Unannounced people are not covered by the fire insurance either and therefore also not allowed, apart from that there are governmental housing regulations about and the maximum capacity per room and/or the type of people staying there. You have rented a 1 person studio, it is to be kept like that.
Last but not least, even when prospects are positive, you should not forget that we still live in a Corona Pandemic time and not everybody will feel comfortable with having strangers in their house/building/kitchen.

Please note that if we our informed the policy is ignored, all costs will be charged and consequences may be applicable.
There are plenty of hotels/hostels/airbnbs in and around Leuven, so if you have friends coming over to party and you like to sleep over or spend as much time as possible with them, rent something together there, and so you will all be safe, undisturbed, non-disturbing and covered by your hosts liability insurance.
Thank you for your understanding, as you’ve all made it to Leuven and living independently we believe you’re being smart boys and girls, and count there will not be problems.
