Contract Translations

Why it’s not possible to provide contract translations.

Legislation is in Leuven – Flanders – Belgium is Dutch. Your rental contract is an official document and therefore your contract needs to be signed in Dutch and why you have received a Dutch version.

We understand for some of our tenants it’s not their native language, and therefore they will need to translate the contract, thus sometimes they ask us to do this for them. Unfortunatlely this is a service we cannot offer.

As the Dutch version will be signed and so to avoid wrong translations or misunderstandings and discussions about this later we refer the tenant to translate it themselves to their preferred language. google translate is a reliable translator app and same as we would also have to use google translate to create an English copy whereas English is usually none of both our native language either.

Then how to translate and understand your contract

• • Use google translate (or any other translation app) – you can upload the full document or copy paste the text – to tranlate the copy in yoru own language.

• • Read the contract

• • List your questions if you have any and email them to us

• • You will receive a reply or feedback to your questions by email, which you can keep for later reference if necessary

• • If all is clear, send us the signed contract copy
